Self-awareness – EFT Tapping & Emotionally Focused Therapy Script

Step 1: Grounding & Awareness

Take a slow breath in……and gently exhale.

Bring your attention inward…

Ask yourself:
“What am I feeling right now?”

No judgment… just awareness.

Notice:

  • Thoughts
  • Emotions
  • Body sensations

Simply observe.


Step 2: EFT Setup Statement (Karate Chop Point)

Tap gently on the karate chop point (side of the hand):

Repeat 3 times:

“Even though I feel [insert emotion: confused, overwhelmed, anxious],
I deeply and completely accept myself.”

“Even though I struggle to understand my thoughts and emotions,
I am open to becoming more aware.”

“Even though part of me feels stuck or uncertain,
I choose to understand myself with compassion.”


Step 3: EFT Tapping Sequence (Round 1 – Acknowledging)

Tap 5–7 times on each point:

Eyebrow (EB):
“I feel this emotion…”

Side of Eye (SE):
“I’m noticing what’s going on inside me…”

Under Eye (UE):
“This feeling in my body…”

Under Nose (UN):
“These thoughts I keep having…”

Chin (CH):
“I’m becoming aware of my patterns…”

Collarbone (CB):
“Maybe I’ve been ignoring this…”

Under Arm (UA):
“It’s safe to notice what I feel…”

Top of Head (TH):
“I am observing myself without judgment…”


Step 4: Emotionally Focused Therapy (Deepening Awareness)

Pause tapping… place a hand on your chest.

Ask gently:

  • What am I really feeling underneath this?
  • What do I need right now?
  • What is this emotion trying to tell me?

Allow the answer to arise naturally…

No forcing… just listening.


Step 5: EFT Tapping (Round 2 – Understanding & Acceptance)

EB:
“I’m starting to understand myself…”

SE:
“These feelings make sense…”

UE:
“I’ve been trying to protect myself…”

UN:
“I can be kind to myself…”

CH:
“I accept what I feel…”

CB:
“I am learning from my emotions…”

UA:
“My awareness is growing…”

TH:
“I am safe to know myself deeply…”


Step 6: EFT Tapping (Round 3 – Empowerment & Rewiring)

EB:
“I choose awareness…”

SE:
“I choose clarity…”

UE:
“I understand my thoughts and emotions…”

UN:
“I respond instead of react…”

CH:
“I am in control of my choices…”

CB:
“I trust myself…”

UA:
“I am growing every day…”

TH:
“I am becoming more self-aware and empowered…”


Step 7: Integration

Take a deep breath…

Notice:

  • How your body feels
  • Your emotional state
  • Your clarity

Say to yourself:

“I am aware. I am present. I am in control.”
